Why we like it

Silky salmon and cream cheese are balanced by sharp red onion, briny capers and a squeeze of lemon. Smoked salmon contains protein and omega-3 fats, and it takes 5 minutes with no cooking.

  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • ¼ red onion (thinly sliced)
  • Fresh dill

  • Lemon wedge

Method

  1. Slice bagel in half. Toast lightly if preferred.
  2. Spread cream cheese generously on both halves.
  3. Layer smoked salmon over the cream cheese.
  4. Top with capers and thinly sliced red onion.
  5. Squeeze lemon juice over salmon.
  6. Top with fresh dill and cracked black pepper.
  7. Press together gently. Serve immediately.
