Why we like it

Silky smoked salmon, rich cream cheese and salty capers are a classic match, and crisp cucumber stands in for bread. Smoked salmon contains protein and omega-3 fats, and the plate has about 4g of carbs.

Ingredients

  • 120g smoked salmon
  • 80g full fat cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • ½ red onion (thinly sliced)
  • Fresh dill
  • 1 lemon
  • Black pepper
  • Cucumber slices (for serving)

Method

  1. Arrange cucumber slices on a plate as a base.
  2. Spread cream cheese generously over cucumber.
  3. Layer smoked salmon on top.
  4. Scatter capers and thinly sliced red onion over salmon.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over everything.
  6. Top with fresh dill and cracked black pepper.
  7. Serve immediately with extra lemon on the side.
